Ratana Contract Furniture Warranty – 2016 / 2017

This limited warranty only cover specific contract furniture for normal commercial use and it is only valid to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

A)  Outdoor Furniture

  • Ratana provides aluminum frame collections limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship, and construction for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER MINOR VARIATIONS IN COLOR, TEXTURE OF FINISHES AND SURFACE IMPERFECTIONS THAT ARE RESULTED FROM THE CASTING AND/OR FINISHING PROCESS.   Woven resin warranty covers for three (3) years against discoloration and/or fading.  Fading and/or discoloration resulting from exposure to the elements, chemical spills, fluids, stains, pets damages, oil, water damage or any other cause are not covered.
  • Stainless steel frame collections are under warranty for five (5) years structural frame failure and three (3) years weaving defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase.  Scratches and chips resulting from normal wear and tear are not covered.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER MINOR VARIATIONS IN COLOR, TEXTURE OF FINISHES AND SURFACE IMPERFECTIONS THAT ARE RESULTED FROM THE CASTING AND/OR FINISHING PROCESS.   Woven resin warranty covers for three (3) years against discoloration and/or fading.

B)   Table Top / Table Base

  • Ratana provides limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship, and construction for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase on table tops and bases (Aluminum/Durawood/Werzalit/Faux Stone/Woven/HPL/Acrylic).
  • Durawood Table Top is made of Polystyrene (PS). Due to its unique property, burn marks may/would be caused by sunlight under a specific condition:   When strong and direct sunlight passes through a wine glass filled with clear liquid, this particular setup is working like a magnifying len, sunbeam will focus onto table surface and generate sufficient heat to create burn marks.  In some circumstances, the thick concave water glass base may also exercise same behavior and create burn marks on the Durawood top.

For tables which are exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend to use lighter color on table top finish.  Burn marks and/or damages arisen from this condition are NOT considered as a manufacturer’s defect on the Durawood Table Top, and they are not covered under the warranty.  If burn mark occurs, it may be improved with the use of sand paper or scrapping knife.

  • Natural Stone Top / Faux Stone Top – some variations in the color, texture and gloss level are normal, periodic maintenance are required to protect the surface from deterioration, staining, and some chipping and cracking.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER MINOR VARIATIONS IN COLOR TEXTURE, GLOSS LEVEL OR DAMAGE DUE TO NEGLIGENCE OR IMPROPER MAINTENANCE.  SCRATCHING, CHIPPING AND CRACKING OCCUR IN THE SURFACE  DUE TO NORMAL USAGE ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY.  Natural Stone Top is porous in nature and moisture can be absorbed and causing crack and swell from freezing due to low temperature, and this is not covered by the warranty.  Placing objects on the Faux Stone Top for long time could leave marks on the surface and this is not covered by the warranty.
  • Acrylic Top – WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER AGAINST BOWING, WARPING OR NORMAL DISCOLORATION.
  • Werzalit Top – for tables which are exposed to direct sunlight, we recommend to use lighter colors on table top finish as they will not absorb heat as those in darker colors.  ¼” to ½” crown from center to the edge of the table is normal.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER NORMAL DISCOLORATION, FADING OR BENDING OF THE TABLE TOP.

C)  Umbrella / Umbrella Base

  • Umbrella is warranted for one (1) year against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase.  Three (3) years warranty on those with Fiberglass ribs against breakage in stable climate conditions.  Umbrella damage caused from wind conditions is not covered.  Fading and/or discoloration resulting from exposure to the elements, chemical spills, fluids, stains, pets damages, oil, water damage or any other cause are not covered.
  • Umbrella base is warranted for one (1) year against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase. Rust is a natural part of the aging process of all Steel or Iron based materials and is therefore NOT considered a defect.

D)  Hardware / Parts and Components

  • The warranty covers our parts, hardware and components (eg. seat straps, leg glides, adjustable legs) for one (1) year against manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase.  Ratana would only replace the defective parts or hardware at no charge and free freight for the first year, labor not covered.   Shattering, cracking and chipping of glass tops are not covered against breakage.

E)   Outdoor Cushion / Sling and Fabric

  • Outdoor Cushions are warranted against manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of purchase.  Fading and/or discoloration of fabrics or slings resulting from exposure to the elements, chemical spills, fluids, stains, pets damages, oil, water damage or any other cause are not covered.   Mildew will grow on dirt, dust, pollen and other organic matters on fabric covers, this is not covered by warranty.  Softening of cushions or foams is part of normal wear and tear process, and should not be considered as defective.  Shrinkage of covers due to improper cleaning procedures will void the warranty.
  • Textilene Sling/Padded Sling seat are warranted for two (2) years against manufacturing defects in materials and tearing from the date of purchase.  Different variations in construction might result in variations in sag and sag recovery.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER SUCH VARIATION.  Fading and/or discoloration resulting from exposure to the elements, chemical spills, fluids, stains, pets damages, oil, water damage or any other cause are not covered.
  • Batyline Sling – Serge Ferrari provides two (2) years warranty against manufacturing defects in materials from date of purchase (Please refer to www.sergeferrari.com).  Different variations in construction might result in variations in sag and sag recovery.  WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER SUCH VARIATION.
  • Fabric is warranted only to the extent of the warranty provided to Ratana by its fabric suppliers.  Customer’s Own Material (C.O.M.) fabrics are not covered under this warranty.

F)    Indoor Furniture

  • Ratana provides limited warranty against manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship, or construction for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase.

G)  Indoor Cushion

  • Cushions are warranted against manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the date of purchase.
  • Fabric is warranted only to the extent of the warranty provided to Ratana by its fabric suppliers.  Customer’s Own Material (C.O.M.) fabrics are not covered under this warranty.
  • Fading and/or discoloration of fabrics resulting from exposure to the elements, chemical spills, fluids, stains, pets damages, oil, water damage or any other cause are not covered.
  • Mildew will grow on dirt, dust, pollen and other organic matters on fabric covers, this is not covered by warranty.
  • Softening of cushions or foams is part of normal wear and tear process, and should not be considered as defective.

Warranty does NOT cover

  • Failure due to lack of maintenance.  Standard maintenance and upkeep should be done at regular intervals. Clean and tighten all screws and bolts.
  • Breakage due to abuse or misuse, alternation or modification of the product.
  • Improper assembly, improper shipping or handling.
  • Damage caused by acts of nature, vandalism, or fire.
  • Damage caused by ammonia cleaners, suntan oils, and other harsh chemicals.
  • Glass breakage.
  • Scratches and chips resulting from normal wear and tear.
  • Failure of powder coating finish due to abrasion, including abrasion caused by stacking the furniture or scraping against other surfaces.
  • Normal fading of color caused by exposure to sun and weather.
  • Bursting or cracking of tubing due to exposure to water and freezing temperature.
  • Products that are sold in “as is” condition or clearance merchandise.
  • All outdoor furniture should be stored indoors in an upright position to allow for proper water drainage, serious structural damage caused by freeze or ice damage is not covered by warranty.
  • Minor variations in color, texture of finishes and surface imperfections that are resulted from the casting and/or finishing process.

Return of Furniture

All returns require prior authorization by Ratana; for quality control purpose and verification, warranty returns must require pictures of damage to substantiate the warranty claim or inspection by a sales representative.  Both original sales invoice and delivery receipt showing purchase date and terms of sales must be submitted for warranty claim.

At our option, Ratana will repair or replace any item that meets the above criteria.  If style has been discontinued and replacement is necessary, Ratana will replace with style and finish that most closely matches the returned item.  Furniture must be returned to Ratana in proper packaging.   Ratana will pay the freight costs of replacement in North America for one (1) year from the date of original purchase (labor and/or installation not included).  After the first year of purchase date, consumer will be required to pay all of the shipping charges on the replacement.

Ratana is not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, which may vary in some states.  In no event shall Ratana’s responsibility exceed the value of the replacement products.

The terms of this warranty are subject to change without notice.

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES: THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHERS: ORAL, WRITTEN, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED.  IN NO EVENT WILL RATANA BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DAMAGES, INCLUDING INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, ARISING FROM THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT.
